As the curtains come down on the enthralling Keraleeyam 2023, we reflect on a week filled with vibrant cultural showcases, thought-provoking discussions, and inspiring technological displays.
From November 1st to 7th, 2023, Kerala’s capital city of Thiruvananthapuram transformed into a dazzling exhibition of creativity, innovation, and forward-thinking dialogue.

The Kerala Medical Technology Consortium (KMTC) and the Kerala Genomic Data Centre (KGDC) shared a booth at “Keraleeyam” where the MedTech Cluster Ecosystem of the State and the opportunities that it offers for Research & Development & Manufacturing that it offers was showcased.  The presence of MedTech startups from the state as well in the exhibition reiterated the fact that Kerala is the ideal location for Research & Development & Manufacturing in the country.

As part of the celebration, a series of stimulating seminars and discussions were conducted, bringing together renowned experts, policymakers, and changemakers to explore critical issues that shape Kerala’s future. It was remarkable to witness vibrant exchanges of ideas, leading to identification of and dialogue on innovative solutions and a renewed commitment to responsible investment, sustainable development and social welfare.

On the 4th of November 2023, KMTC’s Special Officer, C Padmakumar, was part of the visionary panel for the seminar “Shaping Kerala’s Industry Future” – a thought-provoking discussion about the story of Industry in Kerala. The talks were guided by the wisdom of esteemed industry leaders. Their insights shed light on Kerala’s promising industrial landscape and its unwavering commitment to innovation and growth.

C Padmakumar, during his time at the podium, reflected on a journey that began four decades ago. He shared insights into the fertile grounds of Kerala that nurtured his innovative venture from its inception to a globally competitive manufacturing powerhouse.

Kerala’s unique value proposition was at the heart of his narrative. He emphasized how the state’s mature, educated, and skilled populace, coupled with a culture deeply rooted in quality and high standards, creates an ideal ecosystem for responsible investments and sustainable projects.

Drawing an intriguing parallel, he highlighted the resonance between the Kerala model of development and Japan’s “Society 5.0” – a concept that envisions a human-centered society balancing economic advancement with the resolution of social problems through a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space.
