The Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS 2025), held in Cochin, successfully brought together industry leaders from across the globe to explore investment opportunities in Kerala. Organized by the Department of Industries, Government of Kerala, under the leadership of Shri P. Rajeev, Hon. Minister for Law, Industries, and Coir, the summit highlighted Kerala’s strengths in cutting-edge research & development (R&D) and high-end manufacturing. The event was inaugurated by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, reaffirming the state’s commitment to industrial growth and innovation.

A key highlight of the summit was the pivotal role played by the Kerala Medical Technology Consortium (KMTC) in driving investments in the MedTech sector. KMTC facilitated investment commitments worth INR 200 crores from Germany, with the potential to scale up to INR 500 crores in the long term. These investments focus on the sourcing and processing of human biomaterials and the manufacturing of controls and samples for the in vitro diagnostics industry. Additionally, KMTC played a crucial role in fostering discussions between the German delegation and Kerala-based industry partners, paving the way for a proposed joint venture aimed at strengthening the state’s MedTech ecosystem.

This landmark summit reinforced Kerala’s position as a key player in India’s medical devices sector, significantly contributing to the country’s production capacity. By facilitating global collaborations and strategic investments, the event has laid the foundation for the future growth of Kerala’s MedTech and diagnostics industry.
