Kerala’s MedTech Leap: 14th KMTC Stakeholders Connect Meet at HOSPEX 2025

The Kerala Medical Technology Consortium (KMTC), in collaboration with Kerala Life Sciences Industries Parks (KLIP) and Kerala Rubber Limited (KRL), successfully hosted the 14th Stakeholders Connect Meet (SCM) on 29th August 2025, Day 1 of the HOSPEX Healthcare Expo at Kochi.

Themed “Innovating Healthcare: Kerala’s MedTech Leap,” the event spotlighted Medical Rubber—a sunrise sector where Kerala’s global leadership in natural latex meets clinician-led innovation to create high-quality, sustainable medical products.

The meet was inaugurated by Smt. Sheela Thomas IAS, Chairperson, KRL, and featured a keynote address by Shri C. Balagopal, Chairman, KSIDC. A highlight of the day was a dynamic panel discussion on powering medical device innovation through clinical expertise, with thought leaders from SCTIMST, HLL, 64 Codon, San Ferrero, and TiMED sharing insights on translating clinical needs into viable products.

Emerging MedTech startups including 64 Codon, Heka Medicals, Eco Vitaris, Lividus, and Vinvish showcased their innovations, underscoring Kerala’s growing capabilities in research-driven device manufacturing. The event also featured discussions on incubation models (IIT TECHIN) and women-led MedTech entrepreneurship (WE HUB)—highlighting the inclusive and collaborative spirit driving Kerala’s innovation ecosystem.

This Stakeholders Connect Meet reaffirmed KMTC’s mission to unite clinicians, innovators, industry, and policymakers to build a globally competitive MedTech ecosystem rooted in Kerala.

With this strong momentum, we now look ahead to BioConnect 3.0—the flagship event of Kerala’s life sciences sector, continuing the journey to position Kerala as a leading MedTech hub of the future.
